The object I chose is a coin purse from Thailand. My parents recently took an 18-day long adventure to Phuket and Bangkok and brought back memories and stories that will last a lifetime. They also brought back a suitcase full of souvenirs, including this coin purse.
Inside the coin purse they placed 1 Bart, which is the currency used in Thailand. It’s an old superstition that giving someone a wallet, bag or purse without any money in it is bad luck.
I chose this item to do my assessment on because it’s crazy to think that this exact coin purse was made in a completely different country and has traveled half way across the globe. Once I finish my degree my parents plan to visit Thailand again. But this time, I’m going with them.
